What Words Would You Use To Describe Your Faith

When we asked our youth group to give us words that would describe their faith and we would arrange them on our wall, they filled their papers! It was so easy for them to choose words that really meant something, and they make a powerful statement about who we are and what we believe as Christians.

Here are just a few of the Scriptures that go along with the words of our faith.

Love: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:37-39

Learn: Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. Psalm 119:73

Worship: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Worthy: I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 2 Samuel 22:4

Truth: For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100:4

You: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Faith: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Hope: Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. Psalm 16:9

Peace: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Happy: Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. Proverbs 3:13

Grace: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Amazing (another word for awe-inspiring): Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. Psalm 33:8

Family (of believers): For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20

RighteousBut seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
