Sunday Sketches

I don’t know about you, but as we start the new year my creativity really needs a jumpstart. So I’m bringing back Sunday sketches for myself, and I would love for you to try them out with me. So pull out your supplies and let’s get started!

Today's sketch puts your sentiment front and center. It can be difficult to combine large chunks of text with busy patterns, but this card shows how to keep it simple. I only have two layers of background paper, a textured card stock and a cross-patterned paper. The phrase is matted on coordinating card stock and raised on 3D adhesive.

Here’s your sketch for a little inspiration. The card can be any size you’d like, or you can start with a 4.5x6.25 inch card base. Then you’ll be able to use your 6x6 inch papers for the background. Pop dots or any kind of 3D adhesive will be fine for raising your sentiment. I’m all about matting everything on card stock - it just looks more finished to me - so find some great coordinating colors.

After you try today’s sketch, add a photo of your creation to the comments below. I’d love to see your creative take on this design.
