It’s All About The Scripture

There’s a cute calendar sitting on my desk at work, the kind you rip off a page every day to see another pretty piece of art and a great quote. Most days they’re very nice, but other days they knock it out of the park.

They aren’t necessarily spiritual thoughts or quotes, but there have been so many times already this year that they reminded me of a Bible verse. That may not have been the publisher’s intention, but Scripture came to my mind regardless. So I thank them for that.

This is what we have been teaching our teens about having read so much Scripture that it’s engrained on your heart. I couldn’t have remembered these verses if I hadn’t read them over and over again.

Here are a few examples:

Aspire to inspire.

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as become the holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:3-5

Just start.

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, and ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. Proverbs 6:6-8

Love rules.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Be you in all your you-ness.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

You can do hard things.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

Don’t dig up in doubt what you planted in faith.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23

What verses come to mind when you read the remaining pages in this picture?
