Sunday Sketch

Whether you use a paper pre-printed with a border or make your own, framing your card can be a great way to create a focal point on your handmade cards.

For this sketch, you're going to cut that border in half - adding a frame on just two sides of the card and giving you a place to layer some great embellishments.

Get creative with your embellishments, too. Layers, sparkle and coordinating colors can be combined in lots of different ways.

Finish it off with a great quote, sentiment or verse and you'll have a card perfect for sharing with someone special.
For my card, I started with an 8 1/2x11 inch piece of decorator paper that already had a border printed on it. All of the yellow stripes and the black line drawings were already there, giving me a great background to play with.

I fussy-cut the two teal paisleys and embellished them with matching gems. I used a few more of the gems to dress up the circle borders.

Then I finished it off with an amazing chipboard sentiment. Now it's the perfect card to send and lend a little encouragement to someone special's day.

This card, along with many other paper crafts and wood gifts, can be found in our Etsy shop. Come visit today for lots of great ideas and maybe a gift or two.
