Sunday Sketch

Sometimes just changing the shape of your finished product can trigger some hidden creativity. So this week, instead of using a rectangle, let's be square.

Start with a lightly patterned paper in your chosen theme, and then two coordinating patterns for the two sizes of circles. Use a punch or circle cutter to make this easier.

Find a sentiment or verse that will overlap both circles, tying them together, and some small embellishments that won't distract from your patterns.

I made my card from an 8 1/2x11 sheet of white card stock, cutting it down to 5 1/4 inches square. (This isn't an arbitrary size - it actually fits a new package of envelopes I found.)

I chose three coordinating patterned papers, using one for the matted background and two for circles.

In my Valentine's Day bag of embellishments I found this wonderful 3D sticker and matted it on two colors of card stock. Three red gems finish it off.
