A Weekend Of Following Directions

As you drive your car from point A to point B, there are signs everywhere to tell you where to go and what to do.

• Stop
• Yield
• No right turn
• Pedestrians crossing
• School zone
• Railroad tracks
• Keep left
• No U-turn
• Children at play

If you're not paying attention to the signs, you can cause an accident, hurt someone or worse. The signs aren't there to hinder you - they're directing you in a careful way so everybody is safe on the road.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

Make this a weekend of following directions. God has promised to point you in His perfect path, but you have to be quiet enough to hear Him. He says your ears will hear a word behind you, not a shout from in front of you. That takes away the necessity for you to listen for the Lord. The signs are there - you just have to be paying attention.

If you're not hearing His still small voice today, that's probably a hint that you're moving too fast and too loudly. Spend some quiet time with the Lord and listen to what He has to say. You might be surprised at which direction He's asking you to go.
