How To Be An Encourager God's Way

Did you know that today is the national Day of Encouragement? It was designed to give people a whole day to focus on kindness, uplifting others and creating some peace and harmony in the world.

But God told us that every day is a day of encouragement.

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Christians don't need a nationally sanctioned day to encourage others. We've been called to be uplifting every single day. Our words and our actions need to be full and overflowing with God's message of love and support.

Words:
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. Proverbs 10:21

The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. Proverbs 18:4

She openers her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Proverbs 31:26

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6

Actions:
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Romans 14:19

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforters us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Finally brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11

I encourage you to be an encourager today. And tomorrow. And the rest of the week. And until the end of 2018. And beyond.
