A Weekend Of Being Genuine

If you look at my three indoor trees from across the room, it's difficult to tell that they're not real.

But as soon as you get close, you can see where the paint has chipped off some of the berries and that the pine cones are a little too symmetrical.

From a distance they look real, but when you really look closely you can tell they're fake.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. 2 Corinthians 1:12

Make this a weekend of being genuine. Don't be the fake tree that looks great from a distance but shows its deception when someone gets close. Be the same person - with godly sincerity - in all situations with all people.

Fleshly wisdom, will get you nowhere, but by the grace of God our testimony in the world will be simple and genuine. Don't let paint chips flake off your heart, but grow the real fruit of Spirit.
