A Weekend Of Doing Heartily

One way to absolutely fall in love with your home is to clean it. When you deep clean, get down on your hands and knees and really get into your work, you notice things about your house that you normally take for granted. This is how you learn to appreciate what God's given you in so many ways and blessings.

So during my weekly deep-clean of the entryway this week, I noticed for the first time that there was a streak of muck along the steps by the wall - it's where the mop just pushed it away instead of picking it up. I took literally two minutes and wiped those spots up with a wet paper towel.

But while I was down there, I noticed that there were a few scuff marks on the wall. I grabbed my magic eraser and took care of those, too.

But while I was doing that, I could see a few paint marks on the doors from the last time I spray painted in the garage. They were gone in just moments, too.

But while I was doing that, I saw icky stuff on the glass of all three doors, so they got wiped down, too.

Soon the entire entryway was clean and sparkling and smelling better than it had in a very long time.

And I was incredibly proud of the work I'd done.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Colossians 3:23

Make this a weekend of doing everything heartily. Heartily means doing whatever you do wholeheartedly and sincerely. You might have to clean the house like I did, but you can do it with all your heart, cleaning for the Lord. You might be running errands, but you can do your errands for the Lord. You may be spending time with your loved ones this weekend, and you can love them for the Lord, too.

Heartily - with all your heart, sincerely and genuinely. Sounds like a great weekend to me.
