Just Give Up!

Yesterday in the Ladies Sunday School Class, I gave what the world would consider the worst advice ever - just give up! Our flesh tells us that means we've failed or decided to quit. And that makes us feel terrible.

But Scripture tells us that giving up doesn't mean failure or quitting. It means surrendering everything that we are, have and think to the Lord. If we give up the nasty stuff that's clogging us up, we'll have more room for God to fill us with His desires.

This is the list of things God's Word tells us to give up - we only made it through about a third, as you can imagine, and there are many more. I pray you'll find time to study these this week and pray about what you're willing to give up.

A - Attitude (Ephesians 4:23-24)
B - Bitterness (Hebrews 12:14-15)
C - Cares (Luke 8:13-14)

M - Mind (Isaiah 26:3)
N - Negativity (James 3:5-10)
O - Obsessing (Philippians 4:8)
P - Pride (Proverbs 8:13)
