Bible Verses To Share With Your Graduates

I went to my first graduation ceremony and reception last weekend, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried through the entire event. It was a small gathering for three homeschoolers, and even though I only knew one of them personally, their parents' words of love and encouragement to these young men were amazing.

Since it's been a while since I graduated from anything, I had to study for a little while to find appropriate Bible verses for the next phase of their life. I wanted something that would speak of God's gifts of growth, transition and change. Here are just a few that would touch the heart of any graduate.

* Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

* For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

* Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

* Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

* Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

* Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Proverbs 4:13

* Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13
