A Week Of Counting Your Blessings

My favorite version of the hymn "Count Your Blessings" is to sing Ton By Ton instead of One By One. One by one sounds like a trickle of water from the kitchen faucet. That's not nearly the right word to describe the abundance of God.

I keep a praise journal where I list page after page of reasons to give thanks to God. In just a few months, I can write hundreds and even thousands of specific people, things and events in my life that come straight from the Lord. I have no reason to ever be gloomy or depressed because I can flip through those pages and thank God all over again for how much He loves me and how good He is to me.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17

Make this a week, not just a day, of counting your blessings. If you take just five minutes a day and think of all the blessings God has placed in your life, you'll be able to sing Ton By Ton, too! And maybe a week of counting will turn into a month of counting ... then a year of counting ... until you've spent your entire life trying to count God's blessings.
