Sunday Sketch

As we get down to the last days before Christmas, you will love being able to use this year’s worth of sketches to make some last-minute Christmas cards. There are always names we think of after all our cards have been sent, so here is another fun sketch that is both easy and beautiful!

What sets this card sketch apart is the garland draped behind the main image. In this example, I used a white thread with white pom poms on it, which tied in perfectly with the white background and white Christmas tree.

To make the image stand out more, I matted it on ink-distressed card stock and raised it on 3D adhesive. Then the thread didn’t bunch up the paper or get trapped and snagged underneath.

Ready to make this sketch your own? Start with a solid color of card stock for the background. Then choose an image that also coordinates, mat it on card stock and embellish the corners however you would like.

Before you attach the matching patterned paper to the card itself, wrap it three or four times with fibers like a garland. Then adhere it to the front of the card and center the image, raised on 3D adhesive for some added dimension.
