Sunday Sketch

Have you ever thought about using a photo as the patterned paper for a card? This works especially well for the holidays - Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July - and can personalize your work in a special way.

There is also plenty of paper that is created with photos. They're perfect for an effortless focal point. Then you just add an embellishment and a sentiment.

Since today is Molly's second birthday, we'll play around with a dog-themed paper.
For my card, I cut out the paw prints from a pets paper pack, all of which are photos. I cut them slightly smaller than the card itself because I used another piece of that same page to make the background. When you mat two pieces of the same print together, you get a really interesting look. This sand and clay background is a great example.

Then all I had to do was add two sentiment card stock stickers and the card is complete. Depending on how large the photo image is, you can always use coordinating embellishments and fibers, as long as you detract from the photo itself.

This card, along with many other paper crafts and wood gifts, can be found in our Etsy shop. Come visit today for more great ideas and maybe a gift or two.
