Some Life Experience

Late last week, I was completely in the flesh. I was complaining about the troubles I was having, crying over water in the basement and threatening to thrown in the towel. It was a heart-wrench time, and all I could think about was how terrible I felt.

Then Danny gave me the words I needed to hear.

"Why don't you think about all of this as gaining experience?"

Having a godly husband is an amazing, humbling experience some days.

I thought long and hard about that simple phrase for days. What if everything I've been struggling with lately is experience for what is coming down the road?

* Maybe my challenges at work are opening up doors to witness for Christ.
* Learning how to fix the leak in the basement may allow me to help someone else with the same crisis down the road.
* Following through when I 'm exhausted and ready to collapse can prove to myself that through Christ, I'm capable of a lot more.
* Keeping a journal of God's blessings shows me exactly how He is doing great and mighty things in my life.

Nothing is happening in my life that hasn't already passed through the filtering hands of God. And once we realize that, and understand that He's growing us today for something greater tomorrow, the circumstances don't seem all that terrible.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:4-8

What circumstances are you going through today? If you shift your perspective a little bit, what can you learn from them to give God even more glory and honor?
