Another Year of Bible Study

If you've been keeping up with the daily devotion on the left-hand side of this site, you'll notice that today we finished the last chapters of Revelation. That means in just 11 months, we've read through the entire Bible.

But chances are, if you're anything at all like me, you weren't perfect. While I read many, many of those days, there were some when I didn't. Either I thought I was too busy, I didn't feel well or I just got distracted with the stuff of the day. If this sounds familiar, know that you're definitely not alone.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11

Some days I have great readiness of mind and I'm delighted to search the Scriptures. But there are others when it's a struggle and a difficult mindset to focus on the Word of God.

Does that mean that God doesn't have anything for me on the days I don't read? Of course not. As a matter of fact, it bothers me that I may have missed something special on those days because I didn't read. That disappointment is encouragement to read, study and search the Scriptures a little more diligently. Only the Lord Himself knows the blessings that may come from that time alone with Him.

On January 1, we'll begin Genesis again. We'll search the Scriptures daily and rejoice in the blessings God has placed in His Word. It's a breathing, living Word that will be different this time through than it was the time before.

Are you ready?
