A New Year Doesn't Mean Do More

Once upon a time I had a shirt that said Pray More, Give More, Love More, Live More. By the time I finished reading the shirt, I was even more exhausted than I already was. I ended up getting rid of that shirt because the problem wasn't that I needed to do more. I needed to be consistent with what I was already called by God to do.

I've heard several people during the week of New Year's talk about doing more, and as a busy Christian woman, that's discouraging. Instead, let's spend 2026 being faithful with the talents we've been given for God's purposes. I want to continue reading my Bible every day, studying Scripture every day, and inspire you through my writing here every day. I don't need to do more and more - I just want to be consistent.

What has God called you to do for His kingdom? How are you sharing your talents for His glory? Those things are your responsibility in the new year, the things you've been called to be faithful in. Don't get bogged down with doing more, bigger, better, different things. Unless the Holy Spirit tells you to do so, then do it immediately. But we want to be found faithful when this new year becomes the year that's passed. My prayer for each of us this week is that we'll be consistent, motivated by grace day by day, to serve the Lord in all we do.
