Scripture And Phrases To Write Inside Sympathy Cards

I'm working on two custom card orders this weekend, and that's both good and bad. It's very good because I love knowing that these friends will be able to bless those who receive these cards. But it's also very sad because they're orders for sympathy cards and encouragement cards, and I hate knowing there are people in our world suffering through so many trials.

Sharing God's love and truth is the best way I know to shine a light in the darkness of this world. And if putting His word on a piece of paper in an envelope, then I am blessed beyond measure to serve Him this way.

If you find yourself sending a multitude of cards meant to uplift and encourage right now, it can be difficult to come up with words and Scriptures after a while. Here are some of my favorite phrases and passages to include in my sympathy cards, designed to shine the love of God where it is needed most.

May the tender love of God bring peace and comfort to your heart.

Praying the Lord will touch your heart in a special way today.

May the hope of heaven give you peace, and the tender touch of God bring you comfort.

With Sympathy and Prayers

Thinking of you and your family and praying for God's comfort.

Always remember that you are loved, prayed for and have friends who will always stand beside you.

Praying you'll sense God's nearness and care as He leads you through this difficult time.

Asking God to surround you with His perfect peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Remembering you in this time of loss, praying that God will bring comfort to your heart.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:18
