Bring Your A Game To Your Bible Study

When it comes to growing spiritually, I'm an incredibly practical person. Emotion has its place, but emotion wears off after a time. Understanding and applying what you've learned last a lifetime.

So determine in your heart to get the most out of your Bible study time and bring your A game.

Attitude - If you approach Bible study like a chore, it will be a chore. If you approach it as time listening to what God has to say to you, it will be anything but a chore. Your attitude is everything.

Attendance - Sure, you can read the Scriptures once and get something out of them. But that blessing is multiplied exponentially when you return time and time again. And the more time you spend in God's Word, the more time you want to spend there.

Attention - Do you try to do your Bible study while doing something else? It's impossible to multitask and get anything out of your time with the Lord. Set aside time when you can focus and concentrate and you'll be amazed what God will reveal for you.

Acceptance - Take God at His Word.Take His Word to heart and be prepared to be moved by what you're reading. If you're willing to accept what the Lord is placing before your eyes, He'll give you more tomorrow, more the day after that ... again and again.

Ambition - Read more. Learn more. Understand more. Memorize more. Don't stop until your heart is filled to overflowing. Don't settle for a mediocre spiritual life.

Appreciation - Praise the Lord at the end of every Bible study time. Thank Him for the enlightenment He gives and for all of the blessings spending time in His Word provides.

Accountability - Let somebody special in your life know that you're working hard at growing spiritually. They can check in with you and see how you're doing, if you're reading regularly and answer any questions you might have. It's always great to have a partner when you're on an adventure!
