My August And Book Club Planner Layouts

I hate ants. Something about a childhood spent outdoors, which I loved, but always included creepy-crawly ants. So what do I do? I cover my August planner layout in them. These ants just happen to be adorable. So they're not real because real ants aren't adorable. For the record.

Sweet treats just scream summer, so that's my August theme. And one of my favorite techniques for tiny stickers is the equivalent of random stamping - basically throw the stickers on the page like confetti and wherever they land, they stick! When that's done with popsicles, fudge bars, and strawberries, it's the cutest thing ever.

This is also a great way to use up those tiny leftover stickers from larger sets. Nothing goes to waste around here! (That's why it's called "scrap" booking...) You may not have a complete sticker set for doing multiple layouts, but you can combine coordinating sets to make something completely new and totally fun.

After 10 days away, I'm headed back to the office tomorrow. Before I left I wrote out a full legal pad page for a to-do list, so that's waiting for me, plus 10 days worth of emails. That's why my planner layout for this week is in a beautiful rainbow of colors and lots of quotes about books...it's gonna be a long week.

The set I used for this layout has tons of border stickers, journal blocks, bookstores, arrows, rainbows, and phrases, so it was the perfect choice to brighten my week. I specifically chose this planner because it has large blocks for each day, giving me plenty of decorating space to work with. And when you have sets with large images like the bookstore and journal block I used here, you need all the space you can get.

If you know it's going to be a difficult week or there's something on your to-do list that you're not looking forward to, that is the perfect time to brighten up your planner. You're probably going to be in it quite a bit, so make it as happy and comforting as you can. Your heart and your brain will thank you later.
