Puppies, Please Stop Looking So Cute!



I'm telling you, puppies shouldn't be allowed to be adorable. Like Diesel, cuddled up with his brother's half-stuffed stuffed dachshund. He just needs to stop being so cute.


See? Faces. And eyes. And half-smiles that melt my heart and make me want to give them all the treats. It's just not right.


Even in profile they're cute. Cooper is all puppy, all adorable, and mostly dachshund, and you can see it in that face and those ears! Not to mention the cute little nose.


Noses, I tell you - noses! Even when their noses are buried in the leaves sniffing the aromas of everything outdoors, they're cute! Even when they don't know what they're tracking, they're cute!


We've always said that Diesel is Cooper's world - anywhere the big dog goes, whatever he does, the little dog is his shadow. But Diesel also makes sure he knows where his little brother is at any given moment. Even while Cooper is digging for mole holes.


And when they've been outside first thing in the morning, had their breakfast, and are ready for their first nap of the day while I do Bible study, they're absolutely at their cutest. Cute cuddles are the perfect way to start an entire day of nothing but adorable. How can we stand it?

The Lord, My Shield And My Buckler

Sometimes verses of Scripture grab ahold of your heart and don't let go. That happened to me several months in a row as I was reading the books of Psalms and Proverbs.  If you don't already, add reading the Proverb that corresponds to the day of the month - 31 Proverbs, 31 days - to your Bible reading schedule. Similarly, if you read five Psalms every day, you'll read the entire book each month. On the first of the month, Psalm 5:11-12 stood out like they were under a spotlight. Repeatedly. In Sunday School yesterday, we took a break from our chronological study of the Bible to do a fun Fourth of July lesson. We made the youth a packet full of patriotic pictures with Scripture on them. Then we talked about each one in context with the verses around it, not just pulling out verse that sound nice or fit well. After studying several of them, we found a few favorites. They're perfect for creating some digital art of your own, or for using on and in a greeting card.
