My Patriotic Memorial Day Planner Layout

Memorial Day is one of the most solemn, most important holidays we can observe during the year. The day was established to remember those who gave their lives serving our country in the Armed Forces, those who made the ultimate sacrifice over the past 250 years for you and me. At 3 p.m. in our local time, Americans are encouraged to stop and think about the importance of that sacrifice for us to have the freedoms and liberties we have today.

My intention is to keep that spirit of remembrance all week in my planner. Because most patriotic sticker and stamp sets focus on the 4th of July, I had to pick and choose appropriate phrases and images for Memorial Day. (No fireworks or mentions of July, for example.) My washi tapes were the same way - only these two were red, white, and blue without being Independence Day-themed. I love the subtle glitter on the stars and the shine and holographic look of many of them.

My prayer for this week, which is going to be incredibly busy after starting with a day off, is that we won't forget the deaths of military personnel who sacrificed themselves for us. It's a time of deep, serious remembrance and not a time of celebration. May we never forget the beliefs and ideals of our nation as it should be, and may we live lives that honor those who have gone before us.
