My May And Spring Vacation Planner Layouts


The last two weeks in my planner are blank. No colors, no stickers, no patterns - nothing. That's what happens when you're camped out on the couch being sick. But that changed this weekend as I prepared my month of May and National Travel and Tourism Week planner layouts. All the color shows up now!


My monthly planner spreads are where I keep track of my blog posts, so the random scattering of flowers and butterflies for May gives me plenty of room to write on each day. And I adore the bright colors and variety of sizes that break up all that white space. They're all from one set, so they coordinate easily and perfectly.


It feels like this beautiful new month is a reset after being sick for three whole weeks. I've honestly felt useless just medicated and sleeping, but these pages make me smile as I'm starting to feel better and stronger. I'm so glad that April showers bring May flowers!


Tomorrow is the start of National Travel and Tourism Week, an opportunity for local destination marketers to share the economic impact they have on their communities. We also get to point the spotlight on planning for summer travel, and the amazing attractions, restaurants, and shops we have. That's the focus of my weekly planner spread for the coming week.


It may sound funny, but it's pretty cool that I'm on vacation over NTTW. Seems appropriate! So the travel themed sticker set I chose talks about adventure and good times and the joys of hitting the road. We'll be taking a couple of short trips this week since I'm still not feeling the best, but even going a little way away will feel like traveling around the world after being cooped up in the house.


Whatever you have planned for this week, I hope you'll fill your planner with beautiful colors and images, things that make you smile, and events that warm your heart. Whether you have a normal work week, a vacation of your own, or some special events and activities, my prayer is that the days to come are filled with all the blessings God has in store for you.

I remember going to the grocery store every Saturday morning when I was growing up, and my favorite place in the entire store was the donut case. Recovering An Old Card Table And Making It Usable Again

This card table recover project has been on my to-do list for months. I've been using it as my workspace in the craft room for quite some time, and it sees a lot of abuse. Here it is now, with a neutral cover on it so I can take better pictures for my tutorials. There were dents and dings in the old blue covering from metal tools. And yes, I've used my embossing heat tool on it several times, leaving pretty good scars. The padding underneath the blue cover also made it difficult to keep paper crafts flat when adhering them together, so it was time for something new. That's where a simple vinyl tablecloth comes in handy. The process to recover the table is pretty simple, but I learned a couple of lessons the hard way. I share them with you now. Crafts For Teen Girls To Make

In our teen girls Bible study, we're studying our way through the Proverbs 31 woman and it's been such a blessing to me, as I hope it's been to them. Every month we spend an afternoon or an evening together studying Scripture, making something amazing in the kitchen and creating something that corresponds to the verse we're in. Choosing the crafts each time can be a challenge for several reasons. It needs to be something they can completely finish (or do most of) because once they leave they're probably not going to work on it themselves - that's just the nature of teenagers. Remember? It also needs to be a project that keeps they're attention, is age-appropriate and is cool enough that they'll want to keep it or give it to someone special.
